Lebanon is famous for its many good foods. Eating and drinking in Lebanon is something you can look forward to when going there. We got to try some of the best Lebanese food and below we have listed some of the places we ate in and the food and drink we tried there.

Barbar, Beirut

This is a good place to try Manooshy, which is similar to a small folded pizza commonly eaten for breakfast. It can be topped with cheese, thyme, meat, or veg, or a mixture. Barbar also has branches for fast food, pizza, and juices.

Al Rif Restaurant in Oyoun Orghosh

Here we tried the mezze for lunch during the ATV day. Mezze is a large amount of different platters in the form of salads, dips such as different types of hummus, cheeses, and some deep fried pastries such as cheese spring rolls. These are all for the appetizer. Leave space for the main course which is meat and includes shish tawouk, barbecued meat, and kafta. Then to finish off its fruit and coffee. If you like you can try the local Lebanese spirit Arak which has an aniseed flavor to it. Mezze is a good way to try many different Lebanese dishes at once as so many get served to you in one sitting.

L’Autre Bistro is Rue 77, Hamra Street

A French restaurant where we just had a salad and the Pain Perdu, with a bottle of wine. It has a nice atmosphere and feels comfortable just relaxing there after a day of sight seeing.

Abou Walid Restaurant, Safra (between Jounieh and Byblos)

A restaurant right on the coast that serves a good seafood mezze. Again make sure to leave room for the main course of fish. The appetizer consists of the usual assortment but included is different types of fish dishes such as sardines, prawns, and deep fried shrimp.

La Casa di Pasta, Clemenceau, Beirut

This is a beautiful little Italian restaurant which is cozy, comfortable, clean, has good food and good service. The wine is homemade but is good. The dishes were the perfect size and very tasty. This restaurant is perfect for a quite romantic meal and is highly recommended.
